Admission
Admission Under RTE
25% of entry-level seats are reserved under Section 12(1)(c) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
Who can apply
- Children of the age notified for entry-level class by the state, belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) — families with annual income below the limit notified by the state government.
- Children belonging to Disadvantaged Groups (DG), including Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, socially and educationally backward classes, children with disabilities, and other categories notified under the state's RTE rules.
- Children residing within the neighbourhood or local area radius notified for this school by the state government.
Benefits
- Free education with no tuition fee for the entire duration of elementary education (up to Class 8), as guaranteed under Section 12(2) of the RTE Act.
- No capitation fee or donation of any kind may be charged for admission under this quota.
- No screening procedure, interview, or test — for the child or the parents — is used to decide admission, in line with Section 13 of the Act.
- Continuity of the reserved seat through elementary education, with no additional charges levied on the family for it.
Terms & conditions
- Applications are submitted through the state government's RTE online portal during the notified application window, not directly to the school.
- Where applications exceed available seats, selection is made through a computerized lottery or draw conducted by the concerned government authority.
- Required documents typically include proof of residence, income certificate, category certificate (where applicable), and the child's birth certificate — the exact list is set by the state.
- Admission cannot be denied solely for lack of certain documents at the time of admission; families may be permitted to submit these within a reasonable period as per state rules.
- The seat is allotted for this specific school through the government draw and is not transferable to another school.
Income limits, category definitions, and the neighbourhood distance criteria are notified by the state government and vary by state — contact our admissions office or check your state's RTE portal for the exact criteria applicable to this school.
